 Your Role:

As a Sr. Associate Quality Scientist at MilliporeSigma, you will evaluate stable isotope products according to established procedures, develop and improve procedures and perform method validations.  You also will provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department.

 

Working in a QC laboratory, you will:

  • Independently perform quality control analysis, primarily those requiring a higher level of skill and knowledge involving stable isotope compounds, including gases using data integrity skills
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment
  • Improve processes through the application of scientific knowledge, experience and principles in compliance with change control procedures
  • Train personnel and act as a technical consultant
  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve departmental goals and meet deadlines
  • Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of the supervisor
  • Communicate with other departments and customers as needed, particularly in the area of analytical troubleshooting
  • Participate as needed in quality audits/inspections
  • Serve on teams to improve department, site or company performance which may focus on safety, inventory, engagement, improvements
  • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions
  • Perform other functions and duties that may be assigned by the QC Supervisor

 

Physical Attributes:

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl for long periods of time

 

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other scientific field with 1+ year(s) experience in a Quality Control Laboratory OR Master’s degree in chemistry or other scientific field
  • 1+ year(s) working knowledge of ISO 9001 standard

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ work experience in Quality Control in a GMP environment, which includes 1 – 3 years working with gas testing
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Advanced technical knowledge in chemistry with emphasis on analytical and organic chemistry
  • Working knowledge GMP requirements
