Your Role:

  • Build up an R&D lab focusing on lab-scale manufacturing of batteries and battery performance testing.
  • Supervise lab setup, including procurement and installation of lab-scale production lines and general lab equipment.
  • Interface with teams from procurement, EHS (Environment, Health, Safety), logistics, and R&D functions.
  • After completion of lab setup, characterize and test battery materials developed in R&D groups.
  • Assemble and perform performance testing of battery prototypes.
  • Prepare applications showcasing material properties in demonstration battery assemblies.
  • Collaborate globally with colleagues from R&D, marketing, sales, and internal and external customers.
  • Characterize battery materials (e.g., by KF), performance testing, and application development.
  • Benchmark battery compounds from customers.


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in chemistry, materials science or related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in synthesis or formulation of two-dimensional materials, nanomaterials, or energy storage materials.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in synthesis or formulation of two-dimensional materials, nanomaterials, or energy storage materials.
  • Expertise in chemical synthesis, materials science, and formulation of energy storage materials.
  • Experience in lithium-ion battery fabrication and electrode preparation.
  • Knowledge of materials science applications and research market.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Korean and English.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Basic chemical analysis skills and knowledge of spectra interpretation and mathematics.
  • Experience with various techniques such as SEM, TEM, ICP-OES, powder XRD, DLS, Zeta-potential, XPS, GC-MS, LC-MS, and wet chemical analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills, team player, and able to work with cross-functional teams.
