Job Title: Sr. Software Engineers

Job Location: Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, 3050 Spruce Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63103

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for the following job duties:

 

  1. Prepare high-level software design documents and technical specifications;
  2. Review software application code;
  3. Prepare production release documents and database, elastic search, and external system dependencies;
  4. Handle software application code implementation;
  5. Explore new technologies and features added in new software upgrades;
  6. Support and maintain production;
  7. Work with testing teams to add APIs to performance test suite;
  8. Monitor API performance and analytics; and
  9. Document existing processes.

 

Requirements:

 

Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience in software engineering or a closely related occupation.

 

Candidate must also have the following:

 

  1. Demonstrated Knowledge of Object oriented programming gained through five (5) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated experience using JAVA and J2EE gained through five (5) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated experience designing web applications with at least two (2) of the following technologies: JSP, Servlets, HTML 5, JavaScript, AJAX, JRules, CSS, Struts, Adobe Flex, or Action Scripts gained through five (5) years of work experience;
  4. Demonstrated experience with Web Services including SOAP web services or RESTFUL webservices gained through four (4) years of work experience;
  5. Demonstrated experience with multiple relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server gained through three (3) years of work experience; and
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of ETL tools such as Pentaho and Teradata for business analytics gained through one (1) year of work experience.

 

Telecommuting is an option.

 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
