Key Accountabilities

Logistics Support Manager is an exciting role at ISCO Distribution Japan, responsible to be the single interface with internal/external customers and parties, as well as incoming and outgoing delivery management and monitoring. Maximize the team capability, and to perform accountability in the overall international transport business. Uniqueness for this role is to take responsible deploying digitalization culture in the distribution division overall – Automate individual-task with desktop apps applied, represented as Power B.I. and Access/Excel Macro, leading to an individual productivity in the function.


  • Customer support and Vendor management
    • Interface with internal/external customers and parties
      • Be the single point of contact for enquires and questions raised by internal customers. Accountable for subjects related to the internal transport issues. Lead to solve customer problem, collaborating with relative functions and resources.
      • Vendor management (i.e., Import/export forwarder, suppliers relevant to the international transport business). Cost negotiation and complicated coordination.   
  • International transport management
    • Take responsible, completing the custom clearance process for incoming materials (Ambient, Temp-controlled, DG materials) on-time, involving forwarders assigned effectively. Manage outgoing material process (Ambient, Temp-controlled, DG materials) with Logistic Support team managed effectively.
      • Analyze, prepare, and monitor the processes of import and export and provide data to solve existing operations problems. Keep in touch with brokers, agents, and shipowners to track purposes and release of imports and exports.
      • Participate at the global project (i.e., Transport tracking project, FTA initiative), and take required actions with extra value contributed to the team actions.
    • Budget management and accountability. Find cost reduction opportunities, then contribute to the division saving, with extra attention for quality of products and delivery velocity paid.
    • Regulatory knowledge (i.e., IATA, Tax and government regulations), required for dangerous goods handling in the import/export process.
      • Provide the necessary legal documentation for the acquisition of goods and equipment and for the delivery of products and services in the international market.
    • Manage vendors effectively focusing on delivery quality and cost. Organize the weekly/monthly meetings with vendors and maintain excellent relationship as our partner.
    • Initiate cost saving initiatives in the local level, then contribute to the cost saving initiative in the function.
  • People development
    • Manage the total 4 HCs in the team (3HCs for the import/export, 1HC for the local digitalization).
    • Focus on strength/weakness for each individual in the team, and contribute to develop people. Define development areas for each individual and create opportunities for his/her talent thru extra projects and assignments.  


  • Individual-level Digitalization promoter
    • Promoter for all Distribution employee, deploying individual-level digitalization initiative, with Microsoft desk-top apps (i.e., Power BI, Power Query and Macro). Improve individual productivity is a key initiative in the division and lead the productivity improvement actions in the daily task level and digitalization aspect.   
    • Act as the single point of contact for APAC and global digitalization initiative in charge (i.e., Digital project team). Develop reporting structure in the distribution division with Tableau, Foundry and Palantir processes deployed. Lead to utilize the global digital tools in the daily business.



  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, business administration, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree will be strong plus, but not mandatory.



  • Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience for the customer support function, within the import/export transport management scope. Trade compliance knowledge, enough to manage the international transportation and custom clearance, is essential.  
  • 2-3 years people manager or project management leading role.   
  • Self-editing and self-coding for Power BI, Power Query and Macro will not be mandatory, but automating daily workload with multiple digital tools will be essential. Possess strong interest for Tableau, Foundry and Palantir will be advantage.  
  • Business level Japanese and English, writing and speaking. (i.e., Conference call with APAC)

  • Interest to maximize the business efficiency, thru the digitalization with the desk-top apps used. Eager to obtain the up-to-date digital knowledge.
  • Primary KPI (Example):
    • Leadtime from POD to DCs in Atsugi and Ichikawa (ATA to GR), # Projects (# Digitalization projects, #processes improved), Feedback from others.
  • Counterparts (Example):
    • DC operations, EHS/FE, Supply Chain planning, Regulatory affairs, Commercial. APAC team in charge.
    • Suppliers (i.e., Custom brokers) in Japan and outside of Japan. Government authorities, if required.


  • Main work locations:
    • Japan HQ (Meguro station, JR) and Distribution Centers , 1-2 times per week.
    • Flexible working format applicable
  • Business travel, upon request, domestic and international
