Why are questions so important? Questions allow us to go beyond general assumptions and foster new approaches. Joyous Exploration is driven chiefly by focused questions. This exercise will help you to ask questions–without restraints. Let curiosity be your guide and take your first steps into uncharted terrain.

Complex challenges often give rise to questions, that are difficult to answer on our own. The following exercise invites you to use knowledge gaps as an opportunity to take a different approach–coming up with new and original solutions.

A canceled flight, a failed experiment, or when someone questions your ideas. These are common scenarios that can often result in us letting our emotions get the better of us. Use the following exercise to reassess a situation and respond in a more constructive way.

Six Thinking Hats®

Slip into the roles of each of the six different thinking hats. Each hat is assigned a color that indicates a particular mode of thinking. The hats will help you view an idea from a different perspective, which can lead you to more innovative ideas. The exercise is based on a thinking tool developed by Edward de Bono, a world-renowned physician, psychologist, author, inventor and consultant.
