The natural compatible solute ectonie is a neutral non-ionic, strong water-binding, organic molecule of low molecular weight occurring in halophilic bacteria [Galinski E.A., 1993; Galinski et al. 1985]. In its natural habitat, this microorganism grows under extreme conditions such as intensive sun irradiation, high temperatures and extreme dryness and protects itself against these stresses by synthesising ectoine – a natural protective process to adopt and to survive!
Ectoine is a powerful molecule produced via biotechnological fermentation. It is used as an active cosmetic ingredient in RonaCare® Ectoin IQ to naturally activate the skin’s ability to: speed up the defense system, protect from ambient light – reducing damage from visible and infrared light, hydrate and encase moisture, provide skin cells with their own protective shell, to safeguard them from harmful, external influences.
