Using happiness to evaluate a company’s success

Corporate happiness as key indicator for attracting Gen-Ys as future investors.


About the talk

Typically financial parameters like return on equity, cash flow or relative market share indicate to investors if a company is fundamentally healthy, but millennial Lena Bieber wants a new measure of a company's long-term prospects. What if companies instead used happiness as an additional indicator of success? By measuring such factors as average longevity on the job and perceived fairness of opportunities, Bieber believes we can more thoughtfully invest in our collective future.

About the speaker

Lena Bieber · Transformation manager

Lena Bieber defines herself as curious, life-loving and passionate about trying out new things. She is currently working as Transformation Manager at site operations in the Darmstadt headquarters of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. She holds a Masters Degree in Leadership, as well as a French-German Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) de Troyes in France and the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt. Since November 2016, Bieber has given lectures in Change Management and volunteers her free time to the Healthcare Business Women Association as Program Director for the greater Frankfurt region.
