The

Collaboration Paradox

Together

apart?

Scientists like to bounce around ideas to see things from different perspectives and collaboration has been shown to increase research productivity. Despite this, only 44% of scientists surveyed say their organisation has a high level of internal collaboration and only a third say diversity is a reality at their organisation. This is quite the paradox. What can be done to solve this?

  • 80%

say that the burden of administrative duties reduces the time they and their teams have for research

  • 37%

say that greater diversity among teams is critical to ensuring the productivity of scientific research

  • 37%

believe that outsourcing leads to a decline in in the productivity of scientific research
