The Global Health team represented at the Geneva Health Forum 2018

Overview

Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany’s engagement to address global health challenges for the most vulnerable populations showcased at the Geneva Health Forum 2018 (April 10-12)

The Geneva Health Forum is a biennial event that, organized by the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) along with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva, and Swiss and International organizations committed to Global Health, facilitates to link policy with practices and to address health issues through an integrated approach.

As sponsor of this Forum, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, through its Global Health representatives, participated to the discussions with experts from private and public sectors through dedicated sessions and with its presence as exhibitor.

In particular, top management from the Global Health Institute contributed to the dialogue on scientific aspects on infectious diseases, with focus on gynecological pathologies; the workshop session ‘Define a strategy to diagnose key gynecological pathologies in one day for an affordable price at a district hospital in Africa’ allowed to raise further awareness on schistosomiasis, and female genital schistosomiasis in particular, within a large scientific community, sensitizing communicable and non-communicable disease experts beyond those in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
