In particular, violations of our Code of Conduct, applicable law, human rights or certain environmental risks and violations can be reported via our group-wide whistleblowing and complaints system. Anyone can report suspected cases anonymously and free of charge in the respective national language.

Confirmation of receipt
Receipt of the report will be confirmed within seven days, provided there is a possibility of contact.
Group Compliance receives reports received via the channels mentioned above and forwards them within Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany to qualified employees in the relevant specialist departments for processing.
Review of the report and clarification of the facts
In a first step, the plausibility of the report is checked. If this is not possible due to insufficient information, an attempt will be made to contact the reporting person to request further information.
If sufficient information about the matter is provided, appropriate follow-up measures, such as an investigation into the matter, will be taken.Should the investigation confirm risks or violations at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, at suppliers, or at other business partners, suitable subsequent measures will be initiated.
