Our company will mark the World Malaria Day on April 25th. For this annual event, the Global Health Institute (GHI) will join forces with the Performance Materials and Life Science business sectors of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, and the Infanta Malaria Foundation of the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, the Ghana Health Service and ASPIRx in the fight against malaria.
The event will be held in Accra (Ghana) around the theme „How best to protect children and pregnant women from malaria infection‘; it will be run as a high-level forum to assess the scientific and operational aspects for a potential long-term research and capacity-building collaboration to explore effective malarial prevention solutions for vulnerable communities. To continue the engagement campaign of 2017 around IR3535® (the Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, insect repellent), this forum will be the occasion to review the opportunity of IR3535® as a safe and affordable means of effective prevention method, especially for babies, children and mothers, and to discuss support to the development of the new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facility.
Please stay tuned. More information will be shared as outcome from this event.
