Dr Lovisa Holmberg Schiavone is a director of Protein Science in AstraZeneca R&D Gothenburg. She received her PhD in biochemistry from Stockholm University followed by a postdoc at the University of Santa Cruz in California. After working in academia and at the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm she joined AstraZeneca in 2007. Dr Holmberg Schiavone leads a team which is delivering proteins to small molecule research projects. She is also leading a secretomics effort in AstraZeneca. Her interests include development of effective AI tools for recombinant protein yield prediction. She is currently exploring an initiative to form a precompetitive consortium to share protein expression data across the industry, to be able to build predictive models.
