Description

We have a long history as the world's leading provider of AIROPAK® fluorine gas mixtures for surface modification of plastics and fluoropolymers. AIROPAK® F2/N2 fluorine/nitrogen mixtures create barrier properties or alter surface activation of the treated plastic surfaces.

We supply 10% and 20% F2/N2 fluorine nitrogen gas mixtures in individual cylinders and bulk tube trailers globally. Our expert technical service group can help you scale your operation to just the right size to optimize the absolute value from your AIROPAK® fluorination system.

Barrier properties created by either In-line or Off-line fluorination technology for blow molding or chamber treatment of plastic containers creates an economical permanent barrier. This barrier prevents agricultural, petrochemical, personal care or food packages from reacting with the contents. The fluorine barrier treatment prevents active ingredients, hydrocarbons and odors from leaching through the plastic while protecting the structural integrity of the container from issues such as paneling. The nonstick surface of the plastic created by fluorination allows for complete emptying of flexible packages and creates containers suitable for adhesives and glues.

Surface activation, the fluoro-oxidation of plastics created with fluorine gas mixtures, improves the adhesion and wettability of the surface. This improved adhesion allows for painting, printing and bonding of plastic parts including automotive or printing labels directly on plastic package surfaces among the many other applications.

AIROPAK® fluorine nitrogen mixtures are the ideal solution for plastic surface modification. Additional end uses for AIROPAK® mixtures can be found in the manufacturing of semiconductors and pharmaceuticals as well.
