She runs the award-winning bilingual YouTube channel Draw Curiosity, and makes science stories interesting and accessible for a wide range of audiences. An enthusiastic and entertaining educational speaker, Inés uses creativity to make complex subjects simple and fun.
Dr. Yifat Merbl
Yifat studies autoimmune disorders at the Weizmann Institute of Science and uses post-translational modification (PTM) profiling to uncover PTM signatures and targets of relevance to malignant tumors. Yifat has developed a method called mass spectrometry analysis of proteolytic peptides (MAPP) for generating patient-specific signatures of protein breakdown in cells and tissues. Yifat has received numerous awards for her scholastic and academic excellence and is also listed as a co-inventor for several patent pending applications for proteomics techniques.
Klaus holds a PhD in chemistry from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and has been Global Head of Discovery and Development Technologies in the Healthcare business area at Merck since 2010. In this role he managed the medicinal chemistry laboratories in Darmstadt, Boston and Geneva (2010-2011) and is now focused on the discovery and development of new molecular entities (NME). As a passionate advocate of curiosity, he firmly believes in its close connection to innovation.
