In 1668, the aspiring pharmacist Friedrich Jacob Merck acquired a pharmacy in Darmstadt, Germany. There he laid the foundation for what is today a vibrant science and technology company with more than 50,000 employees in 66 countries.
In 2018, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany celebrated its 350th anniversary. "Always Curious – Imagine the Next 350 Years" was the anniversary motto aiming to put curiosity to work for human progress.
