Our Healthcare business

Healthcare consists of the Biopharma, Consumer Health, Allergopharma and Biosimilars businesses. Our prescription medicines – comprising mainly biopharmaceuticals – are used in neurodegenerative diseases, oncology, fertility, endocrinology, cardiometabolic diseases and general medicine. Our consumer health range comprises over-the-counter pharmaceuticals to address mobility, women’s and children’s health, cough and cold, as well as everyday health protection. The Allergopharma portfolio comprises products for diagnostic testing and treatment of allergies. The Biosimilars business focuses on the development of biosimilars.

Our healthcare areas



Our biopharma business is pursuing activities in selected indications for highly specialized therapeutic areas mainly treated by specialists. The portfolio includes leading biopharmaceutical drugs that benefit patients who suffer from colorectal cancer, head and neck tumors or multiple sclerosis. In addition, we offer therapies to treat infertility, growth disorders, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and thyroid diseases.

Research and development are focused on the fields of oncology, immuno-oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, fertility, endocrinology and biosimilars.

Consumer Health

Consumer Health

The Consumer Health business provides a broad range of OTC (over-the-counter) products for the self-treatment of minor ailments. It offers remedies for relieving muscle, joint and back pain, colds and headaches as well as products for supporting physical activity and mobility. The range also includes probiotic food supplements, vitamin C and products with vitamins, minerals and nutrients that support women’s and children’s health.

Allergopharma is one of the leading manufacturers of diagnostics and prescription drugs for allergen immunotherapy (AIT) AIT (hyposensitization, desensitization, allergy immunization) is the only causal therapy for treating allergies to unavoidable allergens. AIT is primarily carried out by physicians who specialize in allergies, such as ENT doctors, dermatologists, pediatricians and pulmonologists.

With its own research department and in cooperation with research institutes and other partners, the company is helping develop a better understanding of the immunological mechanism that underlies the development of allergies and is actively working on the next generation of drugs for allergen immunotherapy.



As part of our ambition to offer high-value solutions, we have set up a dedicated Biosimilars business to provide access to high-quality biologics to more patient all over the world. The business is developing a biosimilar portfolio focused on oncology and inflammatory disorders.
